Breaking the silence

TLF Share's statement on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia #IDAHOTB2020 #IDAHOBIT2020

In our homes, in places of work or learning, in other public spaces, many of us still cower in fear because of stigma, discrimination and violence associated with sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (#SOGIE).

Every person across the SOGIE spectrum should be able to live free from fear, free from the agony of not being able to be true to who they are. We claim our rightful place as equal and fellow human beings. We will no longer cower in dark corners, silenced from speaking the reality of our struggles, and challenged to live fully our truth.

Today, we raise our voices and assert who we are, louder and stronger. Today, May 17, TLF Share Collective joins the global community in breaking the silence against homophobia, transphobia and biphobia.

In this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we assert our right to be treated with respect, dignity and equality. It is hard enough that physical movements and distancing had to be restricted for public health reasons, but access to health and other essential services to survive this pandemic must not be hampered because of stigma and discrimination against people of diverse SOGIE.

TLF Share will not let itself silenced from calling out for accountability and action, on behalf of our client communities, in solidarity with our partners in advocacy. We will always break the silence and speak out.
